Role

Works as part of the IT team to implement, maintain, and troubleshoot computer systems in support of the entire organization. This person will improve hardware and software systems, resolve complex issues, and recommend resolutions which mitigate potential future problems. The role will require working on tasks which range from support of a single customer endpoint to troubleshooting systems through analysis of system logs, and additional responsibilities may be added over time. The right person must be flexible and willing to work on both short-term and long-term projects to tackle any assigned tasks. This position reports directly to the Associate Director, Network and Infrastructure

Key Responsibilities

Administer a broad range of SaaS systems including tasks such as user management, configuration changes, and reporting capabilities.

Work with colleagues to prototype and test new systems as well as improve existing systems

Document Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions for IT Systems

Assist with technical changes to existing environment and document for future reference

Identify, log, and resolve technical problems with computer hardware, software applications, and network systems

Regularly review system logs and existing process scripts to improve efficiency and ensure processes are functioning at maximum capacity

Complete time-sensitive recurring tasks such as monitoring endpoint clients, running audit reports, and completing IT system access reviews by their scheduled due dates.

Maintain installed PCs, devices, networks, and peripherals through routine maintenance, updates, and patches

Collaborate with colleagues and senior team members using ticketing system, email, phone calls, and chat to resolve technical issues and complete other job-related tasks.

While the role is not primarily customer-facing, at times it requires providing friendly, professional, and positive support for users via ticketing system, phone, chat, and in-person

Strive to resolve issues quickly and effectively

Ensure incidents and tickets are filled out according to company standards

Provide advanced help desk support to customers

Receive ticket escalations when advanced analysis is required

Participate in an after-hours and on-call rotation to provide support to emergency customer issues

Crosstrain with other IT Team colleagues to ensure broad knowledge of all IT systems.

Learn the computer and mobile device build process to assist the team with builds when needed and improve the overall imaging process.

Take initiative and learn quickly while working in a fast-paced and virtual environment.

This role is based remotely but may require travel to company offices in support of local office systems.

Professional Experience/Qualifications

CompTIA Network+ Certification or equivalent

Minimum of 5 years in IT system administration role including support of multiple systems

Experience with mobile device management is a plus

Knowledge in networking and cyber security

Ability to troubleshoot difficult issues that arise

Ability to effectively prioritize tasks

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation

Ability to communicate with all levels of staff with the highest level of integrity

Experience documenting work performed to use the details as a reference for future work

Experience defining or refining IT processes/procedures is a plus

Experience working in biotech or regulated environment (e.g., working with GxP computer systems) is preferred

Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends as required

Preferable working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Okta, Syxsense, Trend Micro ApexOne, Fresh Service, KnowBe4 and MobileIron

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
